AW19 Gen Woo Kids Capsule Collection Animal overload

This was our first collection by Gen Woo, before we had an office, before we employed any staff. I was working from home and very much still finding my way around the constraints of using deadstock. Trying to get uniformity in a collection while maintaining your zero waste brand values is extremely hard. Most excess stock i had was under 80kg meaning you can only make a small quantity and one style with it.

For AW19 I gathered a collection of swatches in dark berry colours, black ribs, marls and a grey leopard print. We also had some white cotton poplin to hand. I added a black tie dye to the berry fabric's and made shrunken tee's from the ribs. For the cotton poplin i made A-line shaped smock tops. We developed 1 placement print to go on white and grey marl single jersey and finished it with a black glitter slogan. We also collaborated with an Australian embroidery artist who designed us some beautiful animal motifs.

We started selling at all OG department stores on Orchard Road, Peoples Park and Albert Complex in October 2019.
